VIRGINIA: JUNE 18-22

Our next Prayer Assignment is here. We has us traveling through the state of VIRGINIA. We will be praying over five locations (North, South, East, West, and Central) and placing nails with scripture at each location as we did with all our locations in Hawaii.

Here is the list of the locations, the scriptures we have already been praying as well as the “Spiritual Warfare Prayer” we have been praying over the United States as well.

PRAYER LOCATIONS

RICHMOND

June 18, 2025

Our first location was the Capitol Building in Richmond. The original capitol of Virginia was Jamestown in 1619. A decision was made to move the capitol inland to Williamsburg in 1699 with the completion of the new building in November 1705. The Williamsburg capitol building was burned 1747 and rebuilt by 1753. When the Revolutionary War began then governor Thomas Jefferson urged the moving of the capitol to Richmond. The Williamsburg capitol building was completely destroyed in 1780, and then moved to Richmond in 1785 when the cornerstone was set in place by Governor Patrick Henry.

Richmond has remained the capitol of Virginia ever since.

PRAYER FOCUS: PRAYER AND HUMILITY

SCRIPTURE: 2 CHRONICLES 7:13-16

^“13If I shut up heaven that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, ¹⁴when My people, over whom My Name is called, humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ¹⁵Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. ¹⁶For now I have chosen and consecrated this House so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.“

VIRGINIA BEACH

June 19, 2025

Our second location was going to be Virginia Beach but we had a slight change of plans.

PRAYER FOCUS: RENOUNCING IDOLATRY

SCRIPTURE: ZECHARIAH 13:2

^“2It will happen in that day”—it is a declaration of Adonai-Tzva’ot—“that I will erase the names of the idols from the land and they will no longer be remembered. Furthermore, I will remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.“

A SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS

Instead of traveling to Virginia Beach, we stopped in Norfolk, about 20 miles North of our intended prayer location.

God is ever faithful. We were spending the night in Norfolk, and after checking into our room in the afternoon, we decided to change the location and prayed here, as it is still in the area on the East coast of Virginia. We prayed the same scripture and focus as we would have prayed at Virginia Beach, blew the shofar and then met a couple, Norman and Fernanda, who were out witnessing along the beach, such God ordained moment. We spoke for a little while and explained what our ministry was and why we were there. They asked if I would blow the shofar once more, of course I did. They prayed over us and were on their way.

AN ADDITIONAL SITE

ALEXANDREA

June 20, 2025

Sometimes God gives us extra locations to pray over. As we were traveling to Winchester we stopped in Alexandria to pray over one such extra location. The site is a masonic temple built to honor George Washington.

NOT A PRAYER LOCATION JUST STOPPED TO VISIT

HISTORIC POLEGREEN CHURCH

June 20, 2025

As we were doing research, we discovered we would be near the site of the first great awakening here on American soil, the Historic Polegreen Church, also known as the Hanover Meeting House. This is the site of the first non-Anglican church in Virginia While the church and reading room were destroyed completely, the Historical foundation built a framework based on drawings of the original church. After Rev. George Whitefield would preach his sermons during the Great Awakening, the sermons would be read again to gatherers in the little log cabin known as “The Reading Room.” One of our founding fathers, Patrick Henry, attended Polegreen Church as a youth, and his mother would have him repeat the sermon to her as they were walking home from the services.

WINCHESTER

June 21,2025

Our prayer location today was Historic Old Town Winchester. Now a pedestrian walkway with shops and cafes, it is the site of one of the oldest towns in Virginia. established in 1752.

We arrived early with only a few coffee shops open and walked the brick-paved walkway. We found a plaque stating that on that site President William McKinley was made a Mason in a building on that location in 1863.

We prayed, placed the nail and blew the shofar before heading out for the rest of the day.

PRAYER FOCUS: DESTRUCTION OF IDOLATRY

SCRIPTURE: MICAH 5:12-13

^“12I will cut off your carved images and your sacred pillars from among you, so you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands.
¹³I will uproot your Asherah poles from among you, and destroy your cities.”

DANVILLE

June 22, 2025

Our fourth location was Danville which was the last capitol of the confederacy. We prayed at the Danville Art Museum, which was the former headquarters of the confederacy capitol. We then drove through the area known as “the millionaire district” lots of historical houses and churches in the area.

PRAYER FOCUS: RESTORATION AND INHERITANCE

SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 61:7
“Instead of your shame, double portion, instead of disgrace they will sing for joy. Therefore in their land they will inherit a double portion;
they will have everlasting joy.”

BIG STONE GAP

June 22, 2025

Our final prayer location in Virginia was Big Stone Gap. It was another divine appointment. As we reach the end of the boardwalk for the overlook, there are two ladies standing there talking. One was wearing a t-shirt that said something about prayer and the other’s t-shirt said “faith” so naturally I struck up a conversation.

We chatted for a while and they shared with us why they were here and we shared with them why we were there. They asked if they could agree with us in prayer over the region, of course we said yes. We prayed, put the nail in the ground, and blew the shofars.

SCRIPTURE: ZEPHANIAH 3:9
“For then I will restore to the people pure speech, so that all of them may call upon the Name of Adonai and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.”
